Ridi stared up at the Vampire, who towered over her small body. "Are you going to kill me?" she asked again, the tone of her voice showing more emotion. The Vampire didn't seem to flinch. Her fists clenched together, shaking slightly as her nerves started to get to her. Stay strong, she told herself. You can pull through it.

"Well," the Vampire said. "Pretty much!" he continued on cheerfully. He then lifted his sword, and plunged it down at Naridi.
Meanwhile, the guards who were escorting Aiko proceeded to ignore the fact that she was biting them, and continued to drag her up several flights of stairs.
Kirsdarke continued to torture the two prisoners in ways I would prefer not to share here. If you really want to know, please go to the Viewer Discretion Advised section where it will be posted.

Naridi dodged out of the swords path. There we go, Ridi, she told herself. She stood and took a breath, then in a noble manner, bowed. "I am Naridi Murken," she told the Vampires, "And I mean you vampires no harm. I am here on behalf of the Fairies to make a deal."

"Really," the leader of the Vampiric scout party said, the edges of his mouth curling down in amusement. The Emperor always needs new slaves to torture, and I will be rewarded if I bring this one in. I just have to stall for long enough. "Very well, Fairy," he said the last word as an insult. "What do you have to say?"

Aiko slumped, unable to fight any longer. I'm sorry... She thought feebly, though none could hear her. I'm sorry. She glared at the gaurds, secretly willing death upon them. She knew that they had to follow orders... but they still had no heart.
"I. Hate. You." She said, her words slicing like daggers. She wished she did have a dagger.. but she knew that it would be useless, she would just havemore horrible luck.

"You see sir," the Fairy began, addressing the leader, "Lord Kirsdarke kidnapped the Fairy princess, and we find that rather hostile, but are willing to make a...deal." She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, waiting for the vampire's response.

The guards didn't answer Aiko, and walked out the door, posting themselves at either side. They held themselves at just a fraction more relaxed than rigid attention, which tended to make the casual onlooker's eyes slide right over them. They held their glaives in their right hands, and triangular tower shields in their left. They were the Emperor's Guards.
"A deal. Explain this deal... Fairy" the Vampire said contemptiously. He slowly oozed forward, as if listening intently.

"I..will stay in Princess Aiko's place. She will go back, never to speak of what happened again. She will go back to the kingdom, to tell her father that she was merely in the woods, and I will stay here. No harm will be done to your kingdom because of this incident." She stood, keeping eye contact with the vampire captian.

"Or," the Vampire's leader paused. "We could keep the princess, and take you, as well!" With that, he leaped at Ridi, trying to capture her. Several of his soldiers kept the perimeter, while crossbowmen continued to cover the air, in case she tried to escape. a dozen more soldiers came closer, ready to capture her if she tried to get out.

Naridi stepped backward, intimidated by the vampire captain and his minions. "Actually sir, I like my idea a bit better," she spoke, trying to hide her fear. God, what do you do now, Ridi?! her concience asked sternfully. She continued to keep eye-contact with the Vampire, trying to convince him that she wasn't frightened in the least.

"I know you are frightened, little girl," the Vampire said condescendingly. With that, he leaped at Ridi, attempting to bowl her over, and capture her. A dozen moer Vampires circled closer, so that she couldn't escape. The crossbowmen kept careful aim at the air above her, so they could fire at her if she tried to escape.

Ridi caught herself before she made a comeback to that 'little' comment, as she flew out of the Vampire's way. She stayed levitating, with hesitation to try and escape or fight here at ground level. Her glare met the eyes of the vampire captain, waiting for his next move. "You're a pretty lame Vampire if leaping is all you can do," she commented. "If I wanted to see a ballet, I'd stay home and watch the children's recital."

The Vampire Captain made a little swaying gesture in the air, as if to signal a touche in fencing. In actuality, it was a signal to the crossbowmen. They aimed carefully at the Fairy, just trying to hit her wings. They fired in quick succession, sending 200 crossbow bolts all flying directly at the Fairy.

Ridi noticed the swaying gesture that the Vampire had made, and looked up to see hudreds of arrows shot from crossbowmen hurdling straight at her. Quickly, she screamed, and flew quickly, head-first into the Vampire captain.
