Altan observed the battle and then swore when his sister was wounded and clung to his weakened body suddenly, causing him to be unable to get his footing steady in time and his muscles to protest, spasming and sending them both tumbling to the ground. he landed with her on top of him, his arms wrapped protectively around her, before grunting and shoving her off of him.
He didn't like the fact that helping, had involved his being a cushion and that next, he cursed mentally as his other personality warred with him strongly, causing an excruciating headache that threatened to make his skull burst until he laid his hand on the arrow wound and muttered a spell that quickly healed it.
These two, he decided, would likely be the death of him before any of the enemy soldiers so much as got a chance to swing at him....especially if he kept things up at this rate. Already he could feel himself faling, his magical strength starting to fail as his muscles threatened to give out as he used his staff to right himself once more, this time leaning on it to keep him upright. Now, he wasn't sure whether or not he'd have the strength left to end this battle in their favor. This time he'd be replying on the help of thoes fairies who were now struggling just to hold their own and stay alive against the human forces.

For a brief moment, Ally's eyes flitted open to see Altan muttering and the pounding pain in her shoulder diminish into a dull throb. She passed out again as she saw Altan stand up, wobbling wildly.
In her state of unconcsiousness, she could see faint faces swimming through her mind. She could not tell who they were or what they were whispering, but their urgent messages crowded her brain and a wild sting filled her mind as she frantically tried to decode the messages.
One stood out very clear...
'Kill him.'

Rini's strength slowly returned to her, and she stood up, her fur stained with the blood of fould humans, and her own. Her mind was racing and she couldn't decipher what had happened. Then she saw Ally fall to the ground. "ALLY!" She cried out. She raced towards her wounded freind, licking her shoulder, trying to stop the bleeding. Then Altan mumbled a spell, and stood up, trying to hold his own. He helped me, I should help him. She thought. Rini walked up behind Altan, pushing him gently with her head.
Being large for her age and species, Rini calculated that the Wizard would be able to sit on Rini if he so needed the help. "Ride me." She growled to the man. She awaited his weight to transfer onto her strong back muscles, knowing she had to do this, to help Ally, to help Daith.

Altan gave the wolf a strange look. "I'm fine, I don't need you help," his words a cold, angry fire as he spoke them. he then turned to meet an oncoming pike with his staff, swinging it i an upward arc and then bringing it back down again with all of the strength left to him, shattering the man's skull. He would try to avoid magic, try to keep from falling off the brink, into the twisted kingdom, from going mad...or rather any madder than he already was at this point in time.

Ally blinked strangely and sat up, her eyes blurry. The strange voice haunted her every movement, and she shook her head desperately to try to rid herself of it.
"Rini? Altan?" she called hoarsely. She looked around, trying to find them.

Rini barked, letting Ally know where she was. "You're not strong, and I owe you my life. Just sit." She said, glareing. "Or I'll have to help you another way." She said, lunging at a human, causing him to fall. She ripped at his jugular, the warm blood splurting as he gasped for air. She then turned back to the wizard. "Don't be stubborn!" She said annoyed.

Ally nodded in Rini's direction, but didn't bother to try to move from the positition she was in with her elbows propping her up. It would take energy that none of their trio had.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to her as she surveyed the battle.
"Rini.." Ally asked in a louder tone, her voice regaining power. "Where's Niki?"

Altan spun his staff, using the velocity of the staff to injure the next man so that he would exhaust himself to the point of collapse just yet. he couldn't...they still needed him. Zane was counting on him, and after all the fairy lord had done for him, had helped him through, he wasn't about to let him down now. And then there was the girls. If he didn't know better he'd almost think he was growing attached to them in some strange way. Quickly though, he shook this from his head.
"I'm not being stubborn," he said keeping his voice calm, measured, and toneless, hoping that would make her shy away from wanting to help him a she did.

Rini turned to her freind. "I don't know...." She said, glancing around worridly. She finally spotted the wolf attacking one of the humans. Rini let out a long howl, calling Niki to come. She glared at the Wizard. "You are stubborn, but I'll let it be for now. I have buisness to attend to." She said sharply, letting out another howl to her friend, awaiting her arrival.

Altan said nothing in response to Rini's words, instead he let her take off howling with anger. He couldn't accept their help, it wouldn't do to show such a weakness in front of either of the troops, be they friends or foes.
Letting his eyes slip shut he withdrew momentarily into the very core of his being, letting the jewels of his wizard class eminate with his power, and guide him. Now, he did not have the luxury of using his usual human senses. No, now he was operating solely on his own magical essence, and soon, he wouldn't even have that as a default to fall back on. Soon he would be out of the fight and altogether useless.

Ally struggled to sit up, deciding that laying here like a useless sunbather was doing no good.
"RINI! NIKI!" she yelled out, wrestling with her tall form to try to raise herself into a sitting/standing position.
"..Can you help me up?" she asked lamely after getting the attention of the wolves. Ally smiled sheepishly, as she had nothing but tortured bodies to grip onto.

Rini watched the Wizard, blinking. He's weak. THE IDIOT! HE SHOULDN'T BE FIGHTING! WHY DID HE SAFE ME ANYWAY!?! She thought angrily. She growled at a nearing human, bearing her teeth. He backed off, and Rini ignored him.
Hearing her freind cries, she went to her, followed by Niki. "Grab onto me." She growled, not remembering if Rini could speak wolf talk. She hoped she did, she couldn't waste the energy it took to speak human in this form.

The Elf suddenly noticed her brother standing motionless, very very still and standing up straight. She stared at him, knowing that she could help him if he would let her.
Without waiting for assistance, Ally pushed herself up, swaying with the effort. She shakily made her way over to Altan and put her hands on his shoulders.
"Let us help you. Being independent is not always the best thing. Admitting that you need help is not failure Altan. Please, we want to help you," Ally pleaded softly.

Altan meely shook his head in respones, he didn't want to scare her too much, but when he reopened his golden eyes they were focused and yet strangely unfocused if one considered the way they were lookeding. They seemed partially clouded now instead of just cold and dark, and they seemed to see both everything and nothing as he glanced at varous things and yet seemed to be looking through them into the distance. It made one wonder exactly what he was and wasn't seeing at that moment.
Still, he fixed his clouded glden gaze on her, looking at and through her at the same time. "You need not worry about me, I have done this several times before without aid," he stated dreamily as the magic rolled over him in same soft comforting waves as oblivion usually did his more emotional and caring personality. he let it guide him in the edless dance that was the battle agaist their human enemy, and ended up taking out two more humans with it's guidance, one with a few soins of his staff and the second with a fireball to the chest after the man had stabbed him. Ah, retribution was always sweet, and getting wounded usually stirred his blood enough to call up any unsued and hidden tendrils of magic that ere lurking around within him. Luckily it didn't take a particularly strong fireball to take the human man out.

Ally stared at the Wizard seemingly floating through the battle in alarm. He was in no condition to fight! He couldn't do this!
With a sickening thud, Ally realized that the death of possibly the majority of the fairy race was because of her and Rini using up Altan's magical abilities.
This fueled Ally's decision to let Altan go as she herself swung her sword at a Human, swiftly slashing off his head, staining her already red blade crimson.
Ready or not, here it comes.
