Rini's sensitive ears picked up her freinds demands, but she ignored them. I'm not going home. The other halflings will take care of the sick, I wouldn't get there in time. "Don't go." She growled to Niki. She noticed her eyes were similarly redened, like Rini's. Ah, so she's been caught in a blood lust as well. She thought bemused, pouncing upon a human as he fell, dieing. She let out a howl, declareing a kill. She knew she shouldn't, but she couldn't help herself. The howl resinated through the feild, and for a moment, Rini lost herself in the music. A sweet song of sorrow, and lonliness, but also, a need to protect.

"YOU DON'T BELONG HERE! THIS IS MY FIGHT, MY FIGHT OF CHANGING ALLIANCES! YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW!" Ally screamed at her friends, her eyes bright with anger.
Ally fought harder than ever, swinging in a melody that controlled her world. She barely heard the howl of Rini, and she hardly heard the pained cries of the dying. She just fought, sweat sliding off of her forehead and her hair blowing in the wind that she was creating with her strong swings and controlled strokes. The fight became the center of her universe, and the pooling blood that would come from her enemies was the reward. It was all she could do.
Fight.

Rini felt anger surge up at her. Angry that her freind didn't want her here. "We're all fighting for one cause! To stop the humans!" She growled, then repeated, yelling in Human talk. She looked to Niki. "Let us fight." she said, her fur stained with some blood of the humans that she had fought. She looked to Ally. I will fight beside you, my freind. I will not leave you, I need... She thought, bowling over various humans as she ran. To protect you. She thought, jumping a human that had been coming up behind Ally. She brought her strong jaws around his neck, biteing down. She watched as his life slowly left him, and a small pain of remorse flew down her spine and through her sould. I'm sorry, but I have to protect Ally. She thought, growling at an approaching man.

Tears welled up in Ally's eyes as she realized that her friend didn't understand how important this was to her.
"I need to do this myself!!! YOU DON'T NEED TO KEEP PROTECTING ME! I'M NOT HELPLESS!" the girl roared, spinning and killing all who neared her. "I'M NOT HELPLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
With that, her sword swirled around her as she ran further into the heart of the battle, her emerald eyes strong with an emotion that she could not place. Tears began freely flowing down her cheeks, realizing that who she was was changing, and that it would never be fixed. She needed to make it through this battle alive by herself. If anyone helped her, Ally would know that she had failed, and failing would completely destroy her. She needed them to somehow be taken out of the battle.

Rini blinked, then nodded her head slightly. I'll just make sure no one attacks her.... if they hurt her, they will die a slow, agonizing, painful death. She thought. As she thought, she didn't pay attention to the world around her. This probably resulted in the unfortunate thing that proceeded to happen.
As she watched Ally, she felt a pain in her side. She whirled her head, and saw a man, a gun pointed at her flank. She then looked at her side, blood poured out. She whined in agony, trying to stay standing. I can't fall... I have to be... strong. She thought, falling to the ground. She saw the man running at her, a knife in his hand. He was a good 50 yards away, but Rini knew he would be here soon. She let out a weak agonizing howl, trying to let out her pain.

Hearing a familiar cry, Ally whipped around, her long hair flying out behind her. Her sharp green eyes immediately found a wolf halfling writhing in pain on the blood-stained grass.
Ally ran towards him and swung out, her metal blade clanging against his slender knife. She spun her sword out of the contact before lunging again, the sharpened edge cutting into the flesh of his neck, fresh blood spilling onto the face of the blade.
He sputtered in pain and coughed out blood, but Ally wasn't through. She quickly attacked the other side of his neck and with a fierce stroke, severed his horrible Human head. In a mangled bloody mess, the headless body fell mere inches from the petrified halfling.
Ally merely nodded at the sight of a brutally killed human leaking blood slowly into the dirty ground before scooping up the halfling whimpering in pain and carrying her over to the edge of battle.
She gently dropped the wolf, muttered a quick healing spell that her father had taught her, and ran back into battle. She was eager to cause more blood to be scattered tonight.

Rini whimpered softly, trying to get to her feet. I HAVE to fight! She thought, wobbily getting to her forepaws, only to slump to the ground. She looked down to her hip, which was throbbing with pain. She whimpered, a second bullet had landed in her hip, and she couldn't move. She turned to pull out the bullet with her teeth, then her side, licking the blood off her fur. She flopped her head down to the ground, her ears perked for any noise. She knew that if a Human got to her, she would have no hope, unable to defend herself. The large clomping steps were heard rushing towards her, boots she decided. It's a human, I know it. He's here to finish me off. She thought weakly, letting out another howl, weaker and weaker as she listened to her fate.

Just as the human swung his sword ina downward acr to end Rini's life, it was met with Altan's staff. It seemed that, during the battle, he'd returned to his usual form, abandoning falcon shape, as it was no longer advantageous to be in such a form.
It was strange though, how he'd seen Rini about to die and leapt to stop the fatal final blow without truly giving it a second thought. He then frced the human back through sheer forces, switching his stance before waving his hands and muttering an in cantation that sent a serious of daggers to materialze and strike the human man dead.
Altan looked down, as the man crumpled to the ground, watching him and seemed to take some sort of depraved stisfaction and pleasure from his death. He then turned his cold golden gaze to Rini, watching as her life blood flowed from her wounds, soaking into the ground arond her, staining it a deep crimson as it seeped and pooled around her body. It seemed now that there would be no hope for the girl, unless he acted fast.

Rini looked up meekly at the man. Her flank was heaving with the burden of breathing. "Why- Did you save me?" She asked in a whimper, unable to speak human talk easily in wolf form, let alone when she was this week. I don't like him, I don't think he likes me, so why the heck did he save me?!?! She thought, trying to right herself, only to fall back down to the ground. She knew that she had to get help, or she would lose that which she treasured, her life. A whimper of pain surged through her as her leg twitched in agony. Her body cried out in pain, wishing to just be put out of misery, but Rini wouldn't allow that to happen.

With a cry of shock, Ally sprinted to where Altan was standing over Rini, a look of utter surprise on both their faces.
"What just happened?" she demanded, staring at each of them. She hoped that neither would notice her heavy breathing and her soaked left side that was dripping crimson-- Okay, maybe not noticing is out of the question.
"I'm fine," she said shortly. "But what just happened, and how the heck are we going to get enough power to save Rini?"

Despite the fact that he was glaring down at her for the moment, when the next enemey came and tried to end her life, they were the next to die at the end of his magics. He then knelt down beside the fallen girl and reached out to take her wrist, feeling the faint and ever weakening pules that was there.
When she asked why he'd saved her, he'd growled out something about having only been killing the enemy and having had no intention of saving her. However that hardly explained wh he was now kneeling besid her feeling her pulse and then closeing his eyes as he tapped each of her wounds, sealing them, but knowing that she'd already lost too much blood for that to do any good...and that some wound were so deep that they would leave scars no matter how much healing magic was used to seal them up. However, regardless, he did what he could to close the wounds he saw and then placed one hand gently on her chest, oer where her heart was, and his eyes slipped shut once more as power poured from him in waves. Calling someone from the brink of death as she was, would take quite a bit of energy, he knew he shouldn't be wasting it on her, and yet continued doing so anyway, knowing that it would severely weaken him for the rest of the battle, and who knew how much longer after that.
The hand he had laid on her chest glowed with a faint white light that became brighter and brighter with each added burst of power that he poured into her body. The power then flowed through her, restoring her blood, working to heal her from the inside out.

"YOU'RE GOING TO HURT YOURSELF!" Ally cried out, watching Altan work his magic with horrified eyes. "The fairies need you to help them, and you're going to wear your magic out! STOP!"
As much as Ally was desperate to save Rini, one person could not add up to the entire fairy race. She knew that Altan couldn't manage both when he was already wounded and tired himself, and the choice wrenched her heart.
He needed to leave Rini here to die and fight for his cause.

A shout bubbled under Ally's lips and rose into the air as she recognized that it was too late. The Wizard sank against the bloody ground, closing his eyes in fatigue. He wouldn't be able to defend himself, nor fight more for a long while, and the thought of fighting without someone as skilled as Altan in the battle as well frankly scared Ally to pieces.
"I won't let us lose." Ally whispered this to her brother before running back into battle, and despite her bleeding wounds, began to kill and defend.

While what Alanna said was likely to become a reality quite soon, he continued to work his magic, restoring Rini back to full health, unwounded save for the few superficial scars that he hadn't been able to heal completely with his first spell. A moment more he help the connection, his magic running along the line that had been opened into her being, checking to make sure that all was fully and completely repaired before he broke the link, jerkig his hand back as though he'd been burned and toppling back onto the ground.
From the ground he looked up at the sky overhead a moment, breathing heavily as sweat dripped down his body. He knew he shouldn't have done that and still had know idea what had possessed him to save her from the human earlier either.
Frowning at his own lack of thought before acting out, he sat up, wincing at the soreness in his now tightened and weary muscles, and the lack of the extra energy boost and stamina that his magic usually gave him when there was enough left in reserve to do so. He may have still had a bit of magic in reserve but that was not magic that he wished to tap into if it could be helped, for that maic was raw, it usually went untapped, and when tapped it went out of control, and he often followed, destorying all that stood before him. No, it wouldn't do to dig too far into himself.
Reaching for his staff he used it to hoist himself up, hiding his wince behind a tightly controlled mask of indifference. he could affod to let them see exactly how drained he was at the moment, for not only would it lower morale, but it would also draw unwanted enemy attention towards himself, and so he stood tall and scanned the battlefield, ignoring the worried looks he was getting from those who had seen what had happened. Luckily for him, he was the only one who knew exactly how far he could go before becoming completely burnt out.

Ally noticed a shaking Altan stand up, and she stared at him like he was insane before quickly jabbing her sword through a woman's heart. She continued to fight, but kept a watchful ear and eye trained for any signs of irritation from her brother.
Suddenly, which a gasp of pain, she felt an arrow slide into her right shoulder. She staggered over to Altan and coughed out a spatter of blood before gripping his arm to keep herself from falling over.
"Help.." she moaned quietly before her eyes rolled back into her head.
