Alanna Elensar quietly crept into the grounds where the Halflings innocently lay sleeping in their tents.
Her worn jeans hung off her hips loosely and her silky tank top shimmered. Ally looked up quickly, her long brown hair falling gracefully in front of her moonlight-stained cheeks.
Even though the Elves and the Halflings were allied, Ally wasn't sure that she would be welcome in Halfling land, but the slender Elf was in desperate need of seeking out her friend Rini.
Tiptoeing through the tents splayed at random angles, Ally peered into each one, not recognizing Rini's form in any of them.
As she was bending down to look in the next tent, a voice sounded behind Ally, and it didn't sound pleasant.
Quickly turning with her green eyes wide in terror, Ally's face softened for a split second before she scowled fiercely at the owner of the voice.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" she hissed dangerously.
A venomous glare contorted the pretty Elf's face as she waited for an answer, almond eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Rini glared back. "I should ask you the same thing!" She whispered. "You know how dangerous it is! Human scouts are everywhere!" She said, ushering the elf swiftly into her small tent. An unmade bed lay in the corner. Beside the bed was Rini's regular clothes, her armor, and her treasured weapons. She motioned Ally to sit on the rug that lay in the center of the tent.
"What on EARTH were you thinking?" She whispered sternly, not wanting to awaken the neighboring wolf clan members.

Niki stumbled out of her tent. "Do you want me to sound the alarms or are you sleep walking agian?" She asked the familer halfling voice half awake. She did this once a month just out of members sleepwalking.

Ally sat rigid, petrified in horror. She darted a quick glance at Rini before diving into the bed and flattening herself as much as possible.
She closed her eyes and prayed that the outside voices would stop.. This was a stupid idea, coming here..
Suddenly, Ally remembered the news that she had needed to tell Rini, and her bright green eyes popped open in horror.
"RINI!" she cried in a whisper, lunging out of the bed. She pushed through materials and made her way to the front of the tent.
Peering outside, she noticed a small cluster of gathered halflings.
"Oh crap.." she whispered, falling to a sitting position. "Oh crap."

Rini snaked her hand out and grabbed the familiar halfling, Niki. "NIKI!" She whispered. "I need you to get rid of all those halfings out there, tell them to go back to sleep, and then come back. Someething is wrong.... I can feel it." She whispered, her red eyes full of seriousness for a change.

Ally nodded furiously from inside the tent.
"RINI! RINIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" she called quietly to her halfling friend. "I need to tell you something! Something bad is happening in Daith!"
The elf crawled to the tent flap and opened it a little bit to find the dark area deserted again, except for Rini and a halfling she didn't know.
Slowly standing up, Ally dusted herself off. "There is an Elf who is working for the humans, and they are trying to betray you to them! You have to watch out!"

Rini blinked. "W-Who? W-Why?" She asked, the hair on her tail and ears rising. "Damnit..." She whispered. "This can't be good." She mumbled. Usually optimistic, Rini tried to find the silver lining. I can't find anything positive! What bastard would do this!?! She thought angrily, fighting back tears. Things feel so hopeless, will we ever have Korona again? She thought, looking to Niki, then Ally.

Ally looked on the verge of tears and glanced down, biting her lip.
"I don't know.." she said quietly, hoping to mask her lie and praying that Rini and her friend didn't think anything of it.. It'd destroy her if they knew..

Rini looked into her freinds deep eyes. She blinked. "You're hiding something, Ally." She whipsered. "You know." She said softly.

A silver tear trailed down Ally's pale face.
"It's Sammy.. IT'S SAMMY, DAMMIT!"
The Elf sank down to her knees, shaking and crying. She had just admitted that her sister was a traitor to her best friend.
..Were they ever going to trust her from hiding this from them again?
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you that she was like this until now.. She's never done anything before now! Oh my god.. Rini, I'm sorry! I'm sorry.."

Ally looked up through her tears at the bewildered and shocked halfling standing next to Rini.
"I'm sorry.. You don't know who Sammy is, why this is so important, or even who I am! I'm Ally, pleased to meet you.."
Ally shook the halfling's hand before turning back to Rini, dreading the reaction that was sure to explode from her.

"S-S-Sammy?" She asked, unable to soak in the information. Sami always seemed so loyal, so exuberant, and willing to fight. Why would- why would she BETRAY us like this! She demanded in her thoughts angrily.
Rini closed her eyes and shook away the tears. When her eyes were opened, her usually red eyes, full of joy and hope, were filled with anger, and hurt. "Why! Why would she do this!" She demanded. She felt as if she had lost all her feeling.

(Taking part of my sample and building on it for this, hope no one minds, but I do hate rewriting entrances.)
An ebony staff was thrust up towards the sky, causing the sunlight to strike the jewel at the top in full and collect within it. Swirls began to move within it, the light spiraled around and arund itself, battling with darker shades, and all the while it the staff was lower and a golden eyed man stared unblinkingly at it. He watched the chaotic swirls with no care as to what the outcome would be, merely a stark fascination....a sort of morbid curiousity if you will.
Then finally he tapped the staff twice against the ground, causing the lights within it's bejewled top to shimmer once before dying out completely. He had his answer and now, nothing else mattered. The humans would be stopped, and any who stood in his way would be sacrificed in hopes of this end.
His golden eyes focused then on the Halfling camp below and for a moment he merely stared. His expression remained impassive and then he pulled his staff to his chest and began concentrating, preparing his spell.

"Because. Okay?! She just is.. Don't hate her.. Please, just.. no!" Ally cried, tears still falling onto her cheeks.
Ally knew that Rini would help in a heartbeat, but she wouldn't understand. It was something that the Elensar family needed to do by themselves. They needed to do it somehow, and Sammy had taken the easy way out, not being able to handle the pressure.
Averting Rini's gaze, Ally said no more, yet thoughts were buzzing quickly through her head, desperately trying to escape. The Elf hated hiding things from her best friend, but there were some things that needed to be kept..
..Or at least, that's what she told herself.

A reverbrating quake of sound and colour echoed around Ally, and she sat straight up in shock.
"D-did you feel that?" she asked in a whisper upon noticing nobody else's surprised expressions.
Ally sunk back against the tent. "I guess I'm just imagining things.." she mumbled before looking back down at the cracked earth.
