'Mar remained in the shadows, having to continually run through in his head why he was doing this. He knew why, he just couldn't convince himself to actually follow through.
His life as he knows it is nothing, only a dark gloom of blood and hate. His life had become dedicated to finding a cure, and his search had finally drove him here. The fairies, with their knowledge of magic, may be able to help.
If not, hell, he'd prefer death to this life. He just had to be careful about how he worded his sentences.
At long last, he walked into the street, his cloak trailing behind him, his red eyes glinting. With hope or fear, no one may ever know. To him, it could have been a little of both.

His black travelling robe draping around him silkily as he proceeded forward, Aras Paolini's midnight hair ruffled in the cool late breeze. His bright blue eyes were fresh with dripping ice as he narrowed them and sharply glared at whatever bothered to interfere.
Noticing a black-clad figure up ahead, Aras made careful to not make any noise, just in case this stranger decided to do something note-worthy that he wanted to be alone to do.
Pulling the heavy hood from it's normal position between his shoulder blades, Aras dropped it over his head, sending his face careening into shadow except for the freezing orbs that could stop anything dead in its tracks.
Continuing on tenatively, Aras made it his goal to track this mysterious looking stranger, sure that his efforts would not leave him disappointed.

His face whipping around to see if anyone was watching, he entered the alchemy academy, closing the door behind him very quietly.
He walked down the hall, being sure to stay in the shadows (Very difficult to see him there) until he came upon a room with a wooden sign above it saying, "Library of alchemy."
He peeked in and, seeing no one, slipped in unnoticed.

Sneaking up to the black building that he hadn't previously noticed, Aras examined the heavy black door and the discreet blending of it with the surroundings.
Quickly yanking the door open to let himself hear what was inside, the Human let the door shut once more, not quite ready to go in and investigate for himself yet.
Near silence met his ears, maybe a faint hissing.. But the colours inside that were brightly flying out the thin bar at the bottom of the door and where the frame was left empty for a moment caught Aras' interests, and he walked quietly around the small area to see if he could find a window of any kind.

He began to pour over books, his red eyes darting from word to word, absorbing as much as he could. They were dusty, some of the words had faded, but he did his best to get it all.
He planned to stay here for as long as he could go without blood, which would probably be a few days.

Not spotting any and having completely walked around the building, Aras made his way for the dusty door, edging along the wall and in shadows as silently and as quickly as he could.
Once he left the main hall and not spotting the cloaked figure, Aras saw 3 wood doors, all unlocked. He sighed, and pushed open the first one, ready for about an hour or two of thoroughly searching for this mysterious shadow without getting caught or lost.
"Good luck," he muttered to himself before diving into the first wood door. "I guess I'll need it."

'Mar's head shot up at the sound of the opening door, and he dropped his book and ducked behind a bookshelf.
